Renewal of a Haussmanian Apartment

the beginning, this Haussmanian apartment was a 250m2 office space, located in the 8th district of Paris.

  • Rooms left to abandon, broken moldings and an aging carpet floor. Strictly reserved as a business use, the rooms were not livable. The main goal of this project has been to rehabilitate the complete interior by creating comfortable and modern spaces, while breathing a new life into the Haussmanian Style.

    Project descriptions:

The Haussmanian character was recreated thanks to the renovation of the existing wooden floor, moldings and ledges. Moreover, drawings on the doors have been conceived upon request by Benny Benlolo, the Parisian designer. Always in a ‘Renaissance’ spirit, a Biancone hand carved rosette has been integrated on the entrance hall ceiling.

The apartment’s left wing has been entirely demolished to create night space including: two parental suites including dressing room, bathroom and separated guest toilet.

The different bathrooms have been imagined and realized around a main theme: a prestigious elegance.

The large parental suite’s bathroom, in a elegant and classic style with beige notes, has been conceived with high-end Marfil marble, combined to a glass paste mosaic under ivory tones. To bring originality, a 1m80 double enameled brass bathroom cabinet has been integrated to the room. A balneotherapy bathtub has been added to the room with full options.

The second parental suite’s shower room with beige notes, has been conceived with Emperador polished marble combined to an aging marble and handmade mosaic. The dark Emperador double bathroom cabinet has been designed upon request. A ceiling shower head with an integrated multi jet system has been selected.

The junior suite’s shower room has been designed to reflet a black & white atmosphere – a timeless combination. A white polished Thasos and black Marfil, and a handmade mosaic have been used. The bathroom cabinet adato casa has been integrated to a white crocodile leather facade.

The main hall, originally a confined space, had been expanded to become a gallery, divided in 3 parts. Each room was reduced of 10cm width to create a spacious gallery. A polished and shinny Biancone marble has been used for every movement zone.

The kitchen, conceived in the main room, include stained glass with a style connecting classic and modern. Benny Benlolo preserved the fireplace – not a really common element in a kitchen – bringing more charm and singularity. Gagnot, a prestigious house products brand, respecting every high-end standard has been selected to furnish the apartment.
